The ever-popular Galileo Open-Air Cinema returns to Cape Town’s starry skies from 15 October 2025 to 16 May 2026, bringing old classics back to the big screen in a picnic-style atmosphere.

The Galileo’s 14th season this summer brings exciting new concepts, including live sport screenings, dog-friendly shows, themed nights, exclusive Royale experiences and spectacular new venues alongside all the fan favourites that make Galileo great.

What to expect this season

People looking for things to do in the Western Cape need look no further than The Galileo. It can whisk you away to stunning locations, with screenings hosted at the picturesque Kirstenbosch Gardens, while selected Fridays will light Central Park in Century City up as well as Battery Park at the V&A Waterfront. Saturdays are all about exploring the Cape Winelands, including Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek, Wellington, Somerset West and more. Visit spectacular wine and farm estates such as Lourensford, Blaauwklippen, Nederburg, Leopard’s Leap and Allée Bleue, to name a few.

Guests can expect classic and contemporary movies that bring back cherished memories from childhood or create new ones.
