On Friday 10 February at 08:00 a sector commander of Worcester police, WO Nomphumelelo Mavata, attended to a complaint at Vusisizwe Secondary School in Zwelethemba where they were told that there was a group of school boys smoking dagga in Africa Street. On investigation they found the boys, who ran away. The police managed to corner one of them and when asked where they got the dagga from, he led them to a family hostel in Zwelethemba. The police went to the address and on further investigation came across a bucket filled with bags and packets of dagga with an estimated street value of R6 693. A foreign national was arrested for dealing in dagga and he appeared in the Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 February. They received information about a consignment of drugs that was underway to Ceres and managed to intercept the 42-year-old driver of the vehicle in Tulbagh.
