Three people died this morning when the taxi they were passengers in crashed into the back of a lorry on the N1.
The accident took place at around 05:20 at De Doorns.
“Both vehicles were driving in the direction of Worcester at the time of the incident,” said a spokesperson for the De Doorns police. “According to information the taxi crashed into the truck from behind. Three people died on the scene.”
The three deceased’s ages are between 50 and 56. The drivers of the taxi and the truck were not injured.
Other occupants of the taxi were taken to hospital for treatment. The De Doorns police are investigating the matter further.
