TB vaccine experts help set up clinic garden in Avian Park

For Mandela Day the South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative (SATVI) team, under leadership of Professors Mark Hatherill and Tom Scriba, actively supported the establishment of a community vegetable garden at the Avian Park Clinic in Worcester. The day’s programme included making meals for clinic visitors and setting up the newly established clinic garden. The Avian Park Clinic is located in an area with a high TB burden and the garden will contribute to nutrition support for TB patients. Care and maintenance of the garden was handed to the community workers placed at the clinic.Photo: Fabio Julies
