In the heart of Zwelethemba, Lungisa “Mshira” Bushwana stands as a beacon of hope and action. Known for his contributions to the community through a soup kitchen during the pandemic, Bushwana’s dedication to serving his community has taken on a new form; restoring dignity, one painted house at a time.
“When I see the need for something to be done I take the initiative to serve my community,” Bushwana shared, his commitment rooted in a rich political family background, where serving others is not just a duty but a heartfelt mandate. “For me it comes from my heart.”
Bushwana’s initiative began with a simple act, rallying his friends to assist in painting a house that had been ravaged by fire. “I just thought I was helping” he reflected. “But I saw that it brought back the dignity of the household.” Inspired by the impact of his actions, Bushwana has since painted more than five houses in 2023 alone.
This year he continues his mission without a set target, making himself available to the community until May. Already, four houses have been given a new lease on life through his efforts. “Identifying these houses does not come from targeting a specific demographic,” Bushwana explained. “It’s about restoring dignity to anyone in need, whether they’re elderly or working hard to put food on the table and cant afford household maintenance.”
Despite his involvement in the entertainment space as a DJ, where he showcases his skills in clubs and in the events industry under his company Mshira Solutions, where he has hosted notable events such as the funeral of the late Gospel Singer Lundi Tyamara, Bushwana remains deeply committed to the advancement of Zwelethemba.
“My passion for serving my community goes beyond any professional endeavour,” said Bushwana. “I believe in making a tangible difference in the lives of those around me, regardless of their circumstances.”
Supported by close friends and family who sponsor his initiatives, Bushwana’s dedication to serving Zwelethemba reflects a community-driven spirit that transcends personal accolades. As he continues to paint houses and uplift spirits, Mshira stands as a testament to the power of individual action in fostering collective change, if you would like to make donations you can contact Mshira on 078 727 7149 or at Mshirabush@gmail.com
