Learners at Bo Doorns Primary School in De Doorns display their climate-action posters to celebrate their award of a two-year environmental education programme sponsored by WESSA (Wildlife & Environment Society of South Africa) and Sun International’s Golden Valley Casino. The young learners participated in a climate change activity and created the posters as pledges to sustainable living and to minimise climate change impact. They also started a small vermicompost project that will provide their garden with much needed compost, and help them to sustainably manage food waste and stop the spread of diseases through bacteria exposure. There with them for the launch last week were Sakhile Sithole (far left) of WESSA, Samuel Radebe (back, centre) and Welmireana Hendricks (front, right), both of Sun International.
