Progress of the new reservoir at Preload is significant

Last week the Breede Valley Municipality along with other stakeholders visited the construction site of the new 20-megalitre (ML) reservoir at Preloads. This will be the fifth reservoir in the valley and it’s size will be equal to double the size of one of the existing reservoirs, holding up to 20 ML of water. Preparation of the site began in April and significant progress has been made. Completion of the reservoir is anticipated in August next year and, according to the municipality, it will speak to current as well as future water demands in the town.Photo: Phiwokuhle Mothemela
