A new pizza place in Zwelethemba – a first for this area – has the whole community in a buzz.

Bush Café, a pizza and tshisanyama place in Fulang Avenue, was buzzing with people on Saturday afternoon (2 April) at its opening.

The mastermind behind the Bush Café is Nthando Bushwana, and he came up with the idea in 2019.

Bushwana says he wants people to be inspired by his new business.

“I want the young people in Worcester, especially Zwelethemba, to be able to see that it is possible to do or achieve something.

“We have always supported businesses in the town, why can we not start our own and support it,” says Bushwana.

Bushwana says he got the idea because he saw that the pizza places in town do not do home deliveries in Zwelethemba.

“They only come to the police station then we have to fetch it ourselves,” he says.

Bushwana says he has big dreams for his business and hopes it will grow so that he may need to get a larger site.

Bushwana says the Bush Café is dedicated to his mother, the late Elizabeth Bushwana.

“I did this for my mother because she taught me to work hard for what I want.”

Last year Standard also wrote about Nthando’s water brand Unxano, founded last year in the height of the pandemic, which can be found on the selves of Pick n Pay in Mbekweni.
