The new Manager of the Budget Office of Langeberg Municipality, Linda Nokama. .


Langeberg Municipality welcomes the appointment of Linda Nokama as the Manager of its Budget Office. It welcomed the wealth of expertise in financial management and reporting Nokama brought to the Langeberg with her and is confident her leadership will greatly contribute to its objectives.

In her new role, Nokama will be responsible for managing and evaluating the budget, municipal stores, assets, and insurance. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance Services, she will oversee the compilation of the budget, ensuring its effectiveness and efficiency.

Her duties will also include managing municipal stores, insurance and assets, while implementing budget control measures in accordance with generally recognised accounting practice (GRAP).

Nokama’s is a certified chartered accountant with a postgraduate diploma in accounting science from Unisa and a BCom degree in accounting from the University of the Western Cape. Additionally, she successfully passed Board 1 and 2 exams of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) demonstrating her commitment to excellence in her field.

With more than six years of experience at the Auditor-General of South Africa, where she audited various municipalities in the Western Cape, and two years as a Manager at the Western Cape Liquor Authority, Nokama brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role. Her experience in fleet management, supply-chain management, assets and financial statement preparation will undoubtedly prove invaluable in her position at Langeberg Municipality.
