In a sombre turn of events a 39-year-old man reported missing the previous week was discovered in a ditch in Ndamoyi Street, Zwelethemba on 26 September, around 10:00.
The grim discovery was made by a municipal worker conducting waste removal operations.
It remains uncertain how the man died.
Police divers retrieved the body from the ditch, which was full due to recent floods. Police spokesperson Officer Vathiswa Jacobs, invited anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
