Tyrique Schroeder, (23) star footballer from Worcester Sporting Stars Soccer Club, has achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a professional soccer player. After eight years of dedication, Tyrique recently earned a spot with Gulf United in Dubai following successful trials in Cape Town.
The journey to Tyrique’s triumph began in the heart of Worcester, where he honed his skills on the fields of Du Tuinen Primary. Originally aspiring to be a professional rugby player, Tyrique’s passion for soccer blossomed over the years, prompting a shift in his career aspirations.
“I was so excited; this was my primary dream come true,” said Tyrique on the moment he received the news from Gulf United.
Tyrique started playing soccer as a youngster at Du Tuinen Primary, but before that he was a rugby player. “I first wanted to be a professional rugby player, but once I discovered soccer, my love for the sport grew.
Tyrique however faces a financial hurdle to fulfill his dreams.
