Langeberg Valley, renowned for its scenic beauty and bountiful citrus orchards, is set to host the inaugural Lemon and Limoncello Festival on Saturday 27 July. Organised by McGregor Tourism in collaboration with Green Gables Country Inn, this event promises to be a delightful day filled with fun, flavour and festivities.

With the valley teeming with fresh lemons this time of year, the festival is a perfect celebration of this vibrant fruit. For adults the highlight will be the chance to craft their own limoncello, a cherished Italian lemon liqueur. Meanwhile, children can showcase their creativity by making the best lemonade. Both competitions offer fantastic prizes, with R1 500 awarded for the best limoncello and R500 for the best lemonade. Enthusiasts can enter by contacting McGregor Tourism and compete for these enticing rewards.

Family Fun and Entertainment

The festival offers a range of activities designed to entertain the whole family. Kids will delight in old-fashioned lemon-and-spoon races and a lemon-eating competition for the more adventurous. There will also be a contest to guess the number of lemons in a crate, with additional prizes up for grabs.

Parents can relax on the lawns while enjoying live entertainment, and the numerous food stalls will ensure everyone’s appetites are satisfied. Local wineries will also be on hand, presenting their finest wines for those attending to sample and savour.

Tickets for the Lemon and Limoncello Festival can be purchased online via Quicket at https://www.quicket.co.za/events/266687-lemon-and-limoncello-festival/#/ or at the gate on the day of the event. Each ticket includes two free tastings – limoncello for adults and lemonade for children – allowing everyone to indulge in the citrus delights and play judge for a day.

Whether you’re a citrus enthusiast eager to create your own limoncello or a family looking for a fun day out, the Lemon and Limoncello Festival in Langeberg Valley promises an unforgettable experience. For more information and to enter the competitions, contact McGregor Tourism.
