Worcester indoor cricket is well-alive and drawing more players every season.

Worcester Cricket Academy (WCA) will on Friday celebrate its 1st year anniversary since opening its doors to the community of Worcester. The indoor facility now plays hosts to over 30 indoor cricket teams, indoor and outdoor junior cricket teams as well as individual one-on-one coaching.

The long term vision of WCA was always to create a safe space where sports can be played, skills can be enhanced and social get-togethers can happen. With three established leagues and knockout tournament cups between leagues, it is safe to say that indoor cricket has come back and established itself in Worcester once again.

Over the last year, among the challenges of Covid-19, WCA has played host to 370 indoor league games and growing every evening.

“We are in the process of launching some exciting new initiatives for 2022. We’ve got some plans in the pipeline for both junior and senior indoor and outdoor cricketers. What we have achieved over the last year has been nothing short of amazing, and with the help of an amazing team with me, it was all possible and I can’t thank them enough,” says Afzal Khan.

“We must also commend the community of Worcester for their continued support as we engage in what we expect to be another exciting year ahead,”.

The Summer Cup is currently ongoing and every night sees some very exciting action taking place across three leagues. Visit WCA to witness the action live.
