Hex Valley shows Touws River how to play T20 in De Doorns

On Saturday 21 January Touws River Cricket Club visited Hex Valley Rural Cricket Club in De Doorns for a T20 match. The visitors won the toss and elected to field first. Hex Valley Rural mustered up 125/8, with Apollis Dempers (captain) scoring 45 not out. Accurate bowling from Cameron Smith and Virender Davids restricted Hex Valley to a below par score. Touws River went into bat with Ricardo Pheiffer scoring an impressive 52. However, Almaur Titus from Hex River Valley (4/28) was able to lead the fight-back for his team until Touws River’s Jean Amsterdam took 4/13 and Garnet Wagenstroom 2/8. Despite this counter-attack from Touws River, Hex Valley Rural CC, won with a score of 125/8 and 22 runs. From left are Garnet Wagenstroom, Almaur Titus, Apollis Dempers and Jean Amsterdam.
