The SAPS have arrested a Meloding woman (29) and the female police officer she conspired with to defraud a man of R15 000. They have been charged with extortion.


The Wolseley police have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of a 34-year-old man.

Just after 07:00 on Monday 28 March the police were alerted to a body in Afrika Street, Pine Valley. The body was identified as that of Abraham Davids.

“Upon arrival at the scene police officers found the body close to a dilapidated building,” explains a spokesperson for the Wolseley police.

According to a message sent to Standard, the body was found at the old abattoir.

Furthermore the spokesperson said the deceased had open wounds to his head.

“Blood spatters could be seen close to his body. The deceased, also known as Muis, is a well-known resident in the Montana area,” said the spokesperson.

An ambulance was called and paramedics declared Davids dead. The body was later removed by forensic pathologists.

At this point in the investigation the motive for the murder is still unknown. – Tamsyn Jantjies
