Wimpie du Toit had a great innings against Robertson, smashing 101 runs not out.

Worcester Cricket Club’s first team travelled to Robertson on Saturday (14 January) for their first of three T20 matches of the season.

The team won the toss and elected to bat first with openers Morné Scholtz and Haydar Khan who got off to a quick start, striking a few hefty blows over the boundary, scoring 15 runs an over for the first five overs.

Star batsman Wimpie du Toit was in top form with the bat reaching boundary after boundary in a brilliant innings.

There was no stopping Du Toit as he reached a well deserved 101 (not out) helping Worcester CC to an impressive score of 317/6 after 20 overs. He was well supported by batsmen Reinhard Fox and Ubaid Ullah.

Robertson Cricket Club being a couple of men short, did not put up much of a fight and was eventually bowled out for just 38 with Adriaan Storm the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets and conceded only eight runs.

Worcester won the game by 279 runs.

Du Toit (101 not out), Ullah (47) as well as Fox (38) were the days best batsmen, while Brendan Henning (1/2) and Ullah share the best bowler title.
