The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s (CWDM) Fire Services have responded to a fire in the Du Toit’s Kloof pass about 2km before the lodge in the direction of Cape Town.
According to Jo-Anne Otto, a spokesperson for CWDM, the fire broke out at 14:00.
“The Fire Services have deployed two ground teams and two helicopters. CapeNature is also on scene.”
She says that the fire teams have requested that motorists should be careful when travelling on the N1 in the area as fire trucks are currently using one lane.
“Please do not stop or slow down as this hampers traffic flow.”
