A few women from the Worcester United Cricket Club (WUCC) engaged in volunteer work on Saturday 11 May by giving Petal sanitary pads away to the residents of Avian Park. The Boland Veterans Cricket Association (BVCA), SPAR Western Cape and WUCC are partners in this effort. The BVCA is committed to development within sport. They believe that giving back starts with their players. In the development of women’s cricket they feel strongly that it is a human right for girls not to have to miss out on equal opportunity because of period poverty. The ladies from WUCC will be distributing sanitary pads to the community of Roodewal on 25 May. For further information young women interested in becoming part of the cricket family can reach out to Elmaré Andrews on 073 094 9979. Foto:
