This year, on the 40th anniversary of Mediclinic being established, they celebrated International Nurses’ Day with the theme “Care goes further than you think”, which aims to acknowledge and thank each nurse who has chosen a career of caring for others.

Every patient has a family and a circle of friends or colleagues who value them, and who trust us to deliver excellence and expertise to the individual. By caring for patients, nurses ensure that each patient can return home to their role as mother, father, sibling, colleague or friend.

According to a 2022 Gallup survey, nursing has been globally regarded as one of the most trusted professions for more than 20 years, followed by doctors and pharmacists. Mediclinic recognises that the community places its trust in them each time they enter their hospitals or day clinics.

Each year, Mediclinic takes a special day out to recognise its nurses and their amazing contribution to delivering the best possible care for their patients and the vital role nurses play inside the hospitals and in their communities. As per tradition, colleagues within each Mediclinic locality select a Nursing Excellence Award winner, nominated by their peers in recognition of their selfless work that stands out above others.

Mediclinic Worcester is pleased to announce their Nursing Excellence Award winner: Professional Nurse Lize Prins, who has exhibited care and dedication towards others and is part of the reason patients visit their hospitals and trust their expertise. She has worked for Mediclinic Worcester for the past five years and is known for her loyalty, dedication, knowledge and ability to care and lead by example.
