Worcester Cricket Club outstaged the team of Brandvlei in all aspects on the cricket pitch on Saturday (19 November) when its team won with 96 runs in 15.2 overs.
Worcester won the toss and elected to bowl first. From the first ball bowled they showed excellent bowling techniques, restricting their Brandvlei counterparts to only a few runs.
Wickets then continued to fall at regular intervals with Ubaid Ullah as bowler for Worcester CC, and the opposing cricket club were bowled out for a mere 95 runs.
Worcester went in to bat with Morne Scholtz and Delbrin Arendse taking on the bowlers fiercely right from the start.
Brenden Groenewald continued the onslaught when the first and only wicket fell, as Worcester chased down the winning number of 96 in 15.2 overs.
Worcester’s best bowlers were Ullah (3/22) and Weum Rabie (2/16). The best batsmen were Brenden Groenewald (34) and Morne Scholtz (31).
Brandvlei Cricket Club’s best-bowler status was awarded to Ryno Hendriks (1/15), who took the only wicket, and Eroy Bosman (33) as well as Mogamat America (16), who were the best batsmen.
