Health-care workers invite members of the community to visit Empilisweni Clinic on its Family Day on Friday 14 October.

Staff at special stalls outside the clinic will be ready to share information, and visitors can expect something for everyone in their household: . information on self-care . guidance on protecting health and mental well-being. how to check oneself for signs/symptoms of breast cancer. information on keeping young children safe in hot weather. the opportunity to meet Empilisweni Clinic Committee (the committee that brings patients’ concerns to staff at the clinic, and who share information with the patient) . information on gender-based violence

“We want to create a relaxed atmosphere where people can come and freely ask questions about their health and learn how they can pro-actively protect it,” says Nomonde Makade of the clinic.

“The clinic offers services to support people at every stage of their lives,” says Sr Elsie Engelbrecht, Operational Manager at the clinic. “On 14 October we’d like to give you the opportunity to learn more about what you can do to flourish. Our bodies and needs change. This is the perfect day for us to engage on how you can be as healthy as possible.”

The programme, presented with the support of role-players, including the Cape Winelands District Municipality, is from 08:30 to 14:30.
