A woman was fatally wounded over the weekend when her boyfriend allegedly stabbed her.
According to Warrant Officer Vathiswa Jacobs the deceased and the suspect (the boyfriend of the deceased) were drinking together at their home on Saturday 5 March around 17:00 in Emagwaleni, the informal settlement in Zwelethemba.
“An argument started between them. The suspect then grabbed a small knife that was lying on the table in the shack and stabbed the victim once in the chest, but the stab wound was small and there was no blood coming out of the wound.
“The victim seemed to be alright after that incident,” says Jacobs.
However on Sunday 6 March at 02:00 the brother of the victim visited their place and noticed that she was very quiet, he then went to Zwelethemba police and requested the officers on duty to call an ambulance which they did at about 02:20.
The ambulance only arrived at 07:00 and the victim was declared dead.
The boyfriend was then arrested for murder.
Once charged he will appear at the Worcester Magistrates’ Court.
