Two vehicles collided in High Street on Wednesday (17 August) between the corner of Pick ’n Pay and Boxer causing temporary closure of the road.
According to WO Vathiswa Jacobs, police spokesperson, a charcoal Chervolet bakkie and a Pick ’n Pay truck collided just past the fuel station and saw the bakkie land on the other side of the road just in front of DeTour bicycle shop.
“The driver of the bakkie was changing lanes when the two vehicles crashed into one another,” says Jacobs. Both the drivers of the truck and bakkie were taken to hospital for observation while a 39-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the bakkie, is being treated for serious injuries.
