Congratulations to Rebecca Flack, a Grade 7 pupil at Curro Langebaan, who achieved second place at last weekend’s Western Cape Primary School Athletics Championships, in the u-13 1 500 m. The first three girls, Rebecca included, all broke provincial records for this distance and age group. Rebecca’s time in Paarl was an amazing 04:55. She also competed in the 800 m and achieved fifth position in what were very hot conditions in the town. Rebecca now qualifies to represent the Western Cape at the ASA sanctioned National Primary School Championships in Pietermaritzburg on later this month.
