Committee member Shirley Brown hands donations over to Vanessa du Plessis from “For the Children”.

Skål International Cape West Coast recently hosted a Travel and Tourism Trade Workshop at Buffelsfontein.

The workshop is a round-robin event that provides exhibiters with an opportunity to showcase their products to delegates from the travel industry.

These, mainly from Cape Town and surrounds, were looking to grow their businesses on the West Coast.

This was their third workshop with exhibiters from the West Coast, such as Yzerfontein Accommodation, Swartland Tourism, Wow E-Bikes from Paternoster, Axis Marketing Melkbosstrand, Keyside Events and Conferencing Langebaan, Saldanha Bay Hotel and Skydive from Malmesbury.

The other exhibiters were from Cape Town, Knysna, Northern Cape and Tsisikamma.

Each exhibiter donated a prize draw for the delegates, which added much excitement.

As part of the event Skål requested all participants to support their chosen charity for the year, “For the Children”, a safehouse, future baby sanctuary and cluster foster care scheme devoted to help abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted children from the area by bringing along food, toiletries, stationery and so on.

The next Skål workshop is planned for the 23 July 2026.
