The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Wellington Campus, in collaboration with the Breytenbach Cultural Centre and the Andrew Murray Spirituality Centre, presents Sit-Stories, a cultural experience in the form of a walkabout on 12 March from 16:00 to 20:00.
The walkabout route connects the CPUT Education Campus, the Breytenbach Centre and the Andrew Murray Spirituality Centre, each serving as a storytelling or music performance point.
The route is marked by old and discarded chairs collected from Wellington community members, schools, businesses and institutions. These chairs are painted red or transformed into artworks by community artists, art students from schools and students from the Education Campus.
The rich heritage of Wellington is showcased through cultural expressions such as storytelling, poetry, the Wellington minstrels, choirs, art and traditional food, all deeply connected to the history and heritage of the Wellington community and the CPUT student body.
The event provides a vibrant platform for creative dialogue and community connection.
