A pillar of support to community youth, Hearts for Change sees potential in every pencil.

One of the projects close to the heart of the non-profit’s director, Redevaan van Neel (43), is a stationery drive to provide stationery packs to pre-schoolers, to ease the financial burden on their parents. He strongly believes in the importance of education.

Manager and chef of Jane’s Guest House in Saldanha for the past 16 years, and a source of support to his community for the past four, Van Neel is originally from Redelinghuys, a community he grew up in and to which he gives back, including this stationery drive.

“Community is everything,” he declared. “We, as Hearts for Change, a newly registered NPC, intend to assist our community in achieving a brighter future. We value each donation we receive from our supporters. It takes a village to support programmes such as this, and we would love to have any company’s logo gracing our project and to whom we can express our gratitude on our social-media platforms.”

Hearts for Change is focusing on Redelinghuys Primary School. Its aim is to gift each scholar in Grade R with a stationery pack.

The following stationery is needed:

• Pritt;

• Retractable crayons (Monami);

• Scissors;

• A4 flip files (20 pockets);

• A3 flip files (10 pockets);

• Crayons;

• Whiteboard marker;

• Whiteboard;

• Ring file;
