Local and provincial spokespeople of special forces attached to the Department of Defence were not able to confirm “at the moment” that a cadet or student had gone missing during training exercises over the weekend of 5-7 April near Donkergat at Langebaan.
Residents were warned to expect loud noises in the evenings as military exercises would be conducted.
The department was busy compiling a press release about the incident at the time of going to print.
