Aurora Wind Power, through the Early Childhood Development (ECD) initiative, has given back to the West Coast.
It provided 14 ECD facilities in Louwville with blankets, mattresses, educational toys, basic fire fighting trainings, first aid training Level 1 and 20 days Site Learning Programme (SLP) training. The SLP training-certification ceremony took place on Friday 22 November at the Louwville Civic Hall.
Rashanah Damonse, owner of S&K Consultants, who serves as the social performance practitioner says Aurora Wind Power (West Coast 1 wind Farm), with strategic partners like the Western Cape Education Department for ECD’s, Saldanha Bay Municipality and Grassroots, strive to improve the learning conditions of the 896 learners, who attend the identified 14 ECD centres sponsored by Aurora Wind Power.
“The focus for 2025 will be to look at the infrastructure needs in relation to reaching full compliance so that the ECD facilities can be registered and apply for subsidy funding,” said Damonse.
