Perfect weather set the scene for visitors and locals to make their way to the Langebaan Rotary Fiesta and West Coast Car Show.
The three day event took place from 21 January until Sunday 23 January at the Langebaan beach front and the Curro Langebaan sports field.
On Friday 21 January the event was launched with a exhibition where 22 local exhibiters showcased what their businesses have to offer. Guests were able to enjoy an array of wines and snacks while viewing the exhibition at their own leisure.
With temperatures soaring on Saturday 22 January a number of water enthusiasts took to the Langebaan lagoon to complete a 1 km swim which later changed to a 1,3 km fun swim due to changes of the ocean.
Car lovers made their way to the Curro Langebaan sports grounds on Sunday 23 January to view a vast selection of more than 300 vehicles, old and new.
This was organised by Peter Lindenburg, a local resident and top South African sportsman and motor industry stalwart.
Les Geater of Langebaan Rotary said the event was an opportunity for people to come together and support the local economy.
“We plan to make this an annual event. Accommodation was busting at the seems and hopefully this will mark the beginning of economic resurgence in the West Coast. It was a huge success,” Geater added.
All proceeds went to the Feed the Need Campaign and Team Langebaan Neighbourhood Watch.
