The West Coast College Centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (CFERI) successfully hosted an inaugural Inter-Campus Entrepreneurship Competition at its Vredenburg campus on Friday 29 April.
Sixteen learners from various West Coast College Campuses were selected to be part of this competition.
In the competition learners had to present their business ideas to a panel of judges in order to win prizes.
This initiative was a partnership between the Department of Higher Education and Training and private stakeholders Alan Gray Orbis Foundation Endowment and Future Managers, to promote entrepreneurship as a career choice among TVET College learners nationally.

The three categories learners took part in were “I have a business idea”, “I have a product/service” and “I have paying customers”.
The winners will receive further assistance in accessing grant funding from the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), and they will enter the business incubation programme offered by the CFERI.
The winners in their categories were: . “I have a business idea”: Simphiwe Mbatha (Rack Brands) and runner up Alrich Boois (Green Diamonds)..“I have a product/service”: Cleevan Koopman (Quantam Leap Driving School) and runner up King Ngubeni (Keep Fit Training Centre). “I Have Paying Customers”: Kayla Paulsen (A2B Transport Services)
