Living with the sewage system on my doorstep is unbearable. I am concerned about the health risks and impact it will have on my family. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

The house is located directly next to the pump station in Saldanha. It is unfortunately quite challenging to control the odours from escaping the pump station or when doing maintenance activities at the pump station. Saldanha Bay Municipality, however, provides the resident with pine-fragrant detergent and deodoriser to assist in lightening the odour, and lime is used with sewer spillage, which also helps with the odour. – Ethne Lawrence, Saldanha Bay municipal spokesperson.
