The Youth Council of the Saldanha Bay Municipality wraps 2025 up, and each councillor is excited to see what 2026 has in store.
Junior Mayor Ethan Mahoney
Looking back at 2025, I am reminded about how much we have grown, both as individuals and as a school community. I encourage every learner to pause and reflect on how far we have come. This year brought moments of challenge and moments of achievement, and each one has contributed to our growth. Whether your journey was filled with victories or lessons, remember that every step forward has strengthened your character and shaped your future.
The resilience you built in 2025 will carry you confidently into the new year. As we enter the festive season may it bring you rest, joy and time to reconnect with the people who matter most. Take this opportunity to reflect, recharge and prepare for the opportunities that 2026 will bring. Walk into the new year with hope, determination and the courage to pursue your dreams with purpose and passion.

Deputy Junior Mayor Shikil Sahadew
As 2025 draws to a close I want to take a moment to reflect on our journey together this year. Serving as your Junior Deputy Mayor has been an incredible experience, filled with challenges and triumphs. I’ve seen the strength of our community as we supported one another and worked collaboratively on various initiatives. As Albert Einstein once said, “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”
As we enter 2026 let’s carry the lessons we’ve learned and the friendships we’ve formed into the new year. May this festive season bring you joy, warmth, and love with your families. Here’s to a bright and promising year ahead for us all.

Junior Speaker Valiant Arendse
The year 2025 has been a year of growth, resilience and new opportunities for all of us. We faced challenges that tested our character, yet we rose stronger, supporting one another as true learners and leaders. As we enter the festive season I encourage every student to rest, reflect and appreciate how far you’ve come. May this time bring peace, joy, and renewed strength. Let us step into the new year committed to excellence, unity and purpose.

Deputy Junior Speaker Nikilitha Owam Batyie
As we wrap-up our final edition I want to take time and recognise the hard work we have all put in during the year, one that was in so many ways a testimony to the value that with the right drive and dedication we can achieve far more than we think we are capable of.
I want to encourage all students to carry into the new year the resiliance and curiosity that shaped 2025. This year brought challenges, growth and unexpected achievements for many learners, reminding us of the power of perseverance and unity. Wishing you a peaceful and joyous break.
