Family and friends of Mellina de Kock gathered at the park in Bottlebrush Street to plant memorial trees in her honour.

Mellina de Kock was a woman with still so much to offer, something which sudden death early this year robbed her of fulfilling.

So said Ward 32 councillor Moose Raise about his ward assistant at a gathering at the park in Bottlebrush Street to plant trees in memory of her.

Her passing still has friends and family in shock. Moosa said the ward office will never be the same.

The community of ward 32 always left the office with a smile, he added.

“Memorial trees are living reminders of the person or pet no longer here. Planting and growing a tree is an environmentally friendly way to remember the person every time one views it,” he explained.

Moreover the trees in Bottlebrush Park is intended be constant reminders of how short and fragile life can be.
