The bus stops will include name posts with lighting, an informal bus service, leaning rails as well as universal access measures such as tactile paving for the visually impaired and ramps for wheelchairs. Bus stops with high numbers of passengers will also include seating and shelter.

. An online booking system for motor licences, accounts to avoid queues:

As October to December is usually busier at the City’s cash offices, the public is encouraged to take advantage of the City online platforms. Visitors are also encouraged to make online appointments before visiting a facility. There are five easy steps to follow on the City’s website, after which confirmation via e-mail or SMS will be sent.

. Generators have been installed at a number of facilities to ensure power back-up during load shedding.

Residents who do not want to visit a physical customer office may conduct their business online via the City’s e-Services portal. Visit the City’s website for more information and to register: https://eservices.capetown.gov.za/irj/portal

Remember: City office staff allow senior, pregnant and disabled customers to move to the front of the queue, where they will be assisted as soon as possible.

Residents may access the online booking system at https://bookings.capetown.gov.za to book an appointment.

Follow five easy steps and make your booking:

– Visit the City’s website: https://bookings.capetown.gov.za

– Select your Customer Office

– Select a service (e.g account queries/payment, vehicle licensing/registration)

– Select a date and time for your booking

– Enter your contact details

Customers will receive an SMS and email confirmation with their appointment reference, which will be required and checked on the day of the appointment.

It is important to note that bookings will only be valid from 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the appointment time. Bookings are automatically cancelled when the customer misses the 15-minute window.

. An Early childhood development (ECD) workshop took place the Robinvale Community Hall over two Fridays this month with the main focus being to upskill ECD practitioners and principals and to promote art skills in preparation of our wall painting.

. A clean up was done this month down the heritage tree lane from Robinvale to Sherwood Park with residents and City Solid Waste staffers.

The event was highly successful with over 40 bags of litter collected. A second phase will cover the rest of the tree lane till the end of the ward in Kanon-Kop with the aim to educate residents who live in close proximity on the effects of illegal dumping to the environment and the cost to the City. Local councillor Moosa Raise and his team were thanked for their efforts in the ward.
