Officers attached to the Atlantis Crime Prevention Unit were doing patrols near the Wesfleur Circle behind Midas on Friday 7 February at 04:05 when they spotted a man walking with goods in his hands.
Spotting the police vehicle he started running in the direction of Sherwood Park. A chase ensued and the police apprehended the suspect with stolen goods.
The 34-year-old man was arrested for possession of stolen property and will appear in Atlantis Magistrates’ Court once charged.
Police request that anyone who recognises the items come forward and see Detective Warrant Officer Wilmot Isaacs.
The same team also found a stolen vehicle near Witsand. Captain Lisa Munro, police spokesperson, confirmed the car had been stolen somewhere in Table View the day before.
