A recent business workshop was held and presented by Stoffberg Holdings, the newly appointed small, medium and micro-enterprises (SMME) compliance service provider of Atlantis Special Economic Zone (Asez).

Stoffberg Holdings is to assist local SMMEs with compliance and business-support activities, certifications and information.

The workshop, held on 10 August, in partnership with Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) and ABSA Bank, presented a financial and budget offering to SMMEs that included specific topics on business risk, estate planning, budgets and financial forecast for a business.

Stoffberg Holdings assists with business registrations on Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), valid BEE Sars Business tax-clearance certifications (VAT) registrations, the Department of Labour, Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (Coida) registrations and UIF registration for SMMEs.

Stoffberg will also assist with Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) applications and queries, sector-specific industry-compliance instruments required by the Private Security Industry Authority (PSiRA), and food certifications for the catering and security industries. This is to ensure local SMMEs can actively participate in procurement opportunities stemming from Asez projects and supply chains currently underway.

This compliance project, paid for by Asezco is to grow the existing Asezco SMME database to a bigger pool of compliant Atlantis-based businesses, so local SMMEs can draw from available supply-chain opportunities whenever required by Asezco. SMMEs in the catering, suppliers of dry goods and professional services, construction, training and renewable energy space will benefit.

During the current construction underway of Zone 1,about 18 work procurement opportunities are currently active.

Stoffberg’s director Peter Stoffberg can be reached on 073 845 5878 for more on the project and advice.
