Enabling social cohesion among school principals, government and business leaders through partnerships, through which principals in particular are further empowered to become leaders of change in their schools and communities, is the aim of Partners for Possibility (POP).
The programme for principals run by the organisation, and which fosters cross-sectoral reciprocal partnerships, recently benefited Terence Adams, Russell Andrews, Melvin Losper, Melchoir Petersen, Bryce Carelse, Lawrence Poggenpoel, Ruben Abels and Denver Walbrugh, particularly in terms of support received from business partners.
Carelse and Abels, who are principals in Atlantis, aim to implement the POP programme’s learnings enthusiastically implemented at their respective schools, with the assistance of their partners.
It is especially endorsed by Andrews and Walbrugh, who have since become circuit managers for the Northern and West Coast Education district offices of the Western Cape Education Department.
The current programme will end in September or October with an awards presentation.
