“Success is not a matter of entering the exam room and exiting it victorious, but rather entering knowing you are thoroughly prepared and confident.”

So said Dean Goliath, Station Manager at Radio Atlantis, to matrics of Atlantis Secondary recently.

The high school had a 71,9% matric pass rate in 2018.

“This can be surpassed by a great margin if we all stick to our dreams of success,” Goliath told learners on their final day at school, before the run-up to exams, which start on 23 October.

Motivating them as they prepare, he said it was important for them to understand they weren’t just preparing for exams, but for the start of the rest of their lives.

Goliath appealed to the class of 2019 to adopt a first approach.

“Be the first in everything you do and never let doubt slip in,” he said. “Your future is in your hands and only you can determine where you end up. Prepare thoroughly and make sure nothing distracts you.

“Always remember you are entering the last stage of your school career, the first step towards the rest of your life.”
