Sameeykah Bodkin (4) has shown she has the style and grace by winning Mini Miss South Africa 2024 and Mini Miss Universe South Africa 2024 the weekend of 21-24 of March. The pageant, by Carolyn Botha, Director of Pageants SA and House of Walkers was hosted in Pretoria.

Despite a lack of sponsors, Sameeykah managed to attend the pageant through the support of fundraising, family and friends. The toddler from Protea Park also bagged awards in the Best Theme Wear, Best Ramp Model, Most Photogenic, and Best Interview categories.

Sameeykah went through the gruelling process for four days to prove she had what it takes. This included orientation, registrations and interviews on the first day.

On the second day she showcased her evening wear and casual wear on the ramp. The third day involved showcasing her theme wear, with the crowning taking place the following day.

Proud mother Shamoodah Kader-Bodkin said when they announced Sameeykah as the winner, “I jumped up, I cried, it was everything, mixed emotions,” she said. “She loves her crown, her gifts and awards.”

Sameeykah’s prizes included make-up, age-appropriate toys, glass crockery and a crown worth approximately R3 000.

“She enjoyed the pageant so much and enjoyed what she loves the most,” her mother said. She loved every moment, and we went because she wants to enjoy the stage and loves the pageantry.

“Sameeykah also made many, many friends at the pageant,” Kader-Bodkin said. In December last year the petite girl won the title of Tiny Miss Western Province 2023. Described as a talkative, vibrant and outspoken little girl, she has only been in the modelling limelight for five months.

She was intrigued by the pageantry while watching YouTube videos and ultimately decided it’s what she wanted. Sameeykah is currently the youngest member of her modelling school, House of Walkers. The little queen said she wanted to thank her parents, grandparents, supporters, social media influencers, friends and family for all their support.

“We just want to thank Sameeykah’s coach, Jsa Jsa Walker from House Walker, for everything,” the proud mother said.
