A special Cabinet meeting was held Sunday, 31 January and the following changes to the Adjusted Alert Level 1 Covid-19 were made:. Those who test positive with no symptoms do not have to isolate. . If you test positive with symptoms the isolation period has been reduced from 10 to seven days.. Contacts do not have to isolate unless they develop symptoms.. Cabinet also reviewed the resumption of schooling to full-time learning in all schools. Primary, secondary and special schools will return to daily attendance. The regulatory provision for social distancing of 1 m for learners in schools has also been removed.
The Western Cape Government Health has also reinstated its previous policy regarding Covid-19 contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation.
Quarantine
. Quarantine is not required if you have had prior infection less than 90 days ago. . No need for a Covid-19 test after the isolation period, and one can return to work or school.. Isolation of severe cases (hospitalised): isolate for 10 days from date that no longer requires supplemental oxygen.
Covid-19 symptoms: a sore throat, cough, headache, tight chest, runny nose or congestion, nausea, sore body, or exhaustion.
Protect yourself and others by avoiding crowded places, indoor spaces with poor ventilation, by always wearing a mask when out and keeping gatherings small and short.
