Since the coronavirus has impacted people around the world in various ways, including South Africa, where people have not only lost jobs and incomes but their lives too, a local shopping mall has come up with an innovative way in which the people of Atlantis can express their needs.

“Put your needs on our flag and we will make it happen,” the Atlantis City Mall stated about the #UnitedWeShallStand campaign it recently launched, in which shoppers are invited to come along and write their own needs or someone else’s on a paper and stick it on a little flag in the corridor outside the Clicks store.

After the flag has been filled the centre management team will do its utmost to fulfil some of the community’s needs, in an effort to help it at this time of need.

Mall managers have had to ensure they act responsibly when allowing tenants to trade and shoppers on site. #UnitedWeShallStand is part of this, ushering in an atmosphere of hope.

It actively fosters a communal sense of promise among South Africans, of togetherness in the face of a common enemy and staying strong until prosperity reigns again after lockdown ends, the mall’s management said.
