Karatekas are back in form

Kazoku-Seiwakai Atlantis had four students taking part in the South African Karate League Tournament in Cape Town on Saturday 15 April. From left are Liam van Wyk (bronze medal), Montell Blankenberg (fifth place), Taygan Watt (bronze) and Zachary Berlin (silver). All of them are ranked in the top 15 in their respective weight fighting categories. Sensei/instructor Alphonso Afrika (centre) said karate in Atlantis was quiet at the height of the Covid pandemic, but things are now back in full swing as his champions make waves again, provincially and nationally. Training takes place at the MPC Hall on Mondays.
