The City of Cape Town is extending the deadline for local vendors to apply for trading bays at the My Cape Town Market Atlantis, set to take place at the Atlantis Heritage Market in Robinvale. The market will take place on Friday 2 June, from midday to 17:00, and Saturday 3 June, from 10:00 to 15:00.
Traders now have until 17:00 on Tuesday 30 May to submit their digital or hard copy applications for bays said Alderman James Vos, Mayco Member for Economic Growth..
“We are very excited to bring My Cape Town Market to Atlantis, which has a thriving community of traders creating unique goodies to eat, wear or use in one’s home,” he said. “Whether you’re an artist, a gadget guru or a whiz with a whisk, this market is an ideal opportunity to show what you’ve got.
“The event will also feature fun activities such as buskers, emerging artists and a children’s play zone. Neighbourhood markets have rightly become massively popular in recent years with locals looking to reclaim that sense of community, and with international visitors seeking out those gems that give them a taste of South Africa. As the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth I am proud to support these platforms that give these up-and-coming entrepreneurs and creators the scope to re-connect with previous customers, find new fans, and boost economic opportunities.”
Applications for trading at the market are now open and is free of charge. Application forms can be obtained by contacting Keizah Ruiters at KeizahAnn.Ruiters@capetown.gov.za or the following offices between 09:00 and 15:00 on weekdays:
. Councillor Moosa Raise’s offices, Wesfleur municipal office, 1st floor, Wesfleur Atlantis
. Sub-council offices, corner of Hermes and Grosvenor Road, Saxonsea, Atlantis.
