Police have confirmed another woman’s body has been found in Dawn Park in Boksburg on Johannesburg’s East Rand – the 9th body recovered in the Ekurhuleni area in two months. The body was discovered on Thursday morning. A team of experts is working the cases, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

In other news, the South African government has rejected new US visa restrictions over its racial equity policies, accusing the Trump administration of misrepresenting its laws. In international news, the European Union has proposed banning social media for children under 13, as more than 20 countries move to restrict children’s access online. Australia introduced a blanket ban for under-16s in December 2025 – Indonesia and Malaysia have followed, with Britain, Norway, and Canada preparing similar laws.
