WELKOM – Dancers of the Vibez Dance Studio delivered a series of impressive performances at two recent competitions, collecting numerous awards and top placings across a wide range of dance disciplines and age groups.

The studio enjoyed a successful outing at the Clash of the Titans Competition, held in Kroonstad on 15 August.

In the festival section, Vibez dancers secured three diamond awards, one super gold, three gold, four special silver, eight silver, and three high bronze medals.

Among the individual highlights, Nicolle Snyders won her children’s age category, while Laché Dressler was named Best Female Dancer and achieved the highest festival score. Snyders also received a special award.

The studio continued its strong showing in the championship section, where Vibez dancers claimed 12 first-place positions, eight second places, five third places, one fourth, one fifth, one sixth, two eighths, and one ninth place.

Ané Erasmus added another achievement by winning the tots age category.

The dancers then carried their momentum into the Goudveld Language and Arts Festival, held at the Salt en Pepper venue in Welkom on 18 and 19 August.

Vibez dancers competed in several disciplines, including acro, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, musical character, and open sections.

Dominique Joubert was among the standout performers, winning six category awards across acro, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and open disciplines.

She received an A++ rating in each of her winning performances.

Other individual category winners included Mila-Né Botes, Bonolo Maikhoso and Nicolle Snyders in hip hop, Laché Dressler in contemporary, and Leah Blignaut in musical character.

Vibez’s group dancers also performed strongly, with the Mystical Creatures group winning the acro category, while the Mini Attitude Crew and Next Level Crew claimed hip hop titles. The 4th Horseman Group won the contemporary category, while the Jumangi Group secured first place in the open section.

Further A++ performances were recorded by Miané Stiglingh in hip hop and Ané Erasmus in lyrical, while numerous other Vibez dancers achieved A and A+ ratings across the various categories.

The two events provided opportunities for dancers from different studios to compete across a broad range of disciplines, age groups and skill levels.
