Allanridge detectives are investigating a case of murder after a 30-year-old man was fatally stabbed near a tavern in Nyakallong.

On Saturday 21 March, at approximately 06:10, police were summoned to a hospital in Odendaalsrus.

Upon their arrival members were informed about a victim who had been brought to the hospital in a private vehicle.

According to information the victim had sustained a stab wound to the left side of his chest.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The matter was then reported to the police.

“It is alleged that the victim was demanding his cellphone from two male suspects. This then led to the victim being stabbed with a sharp object on his chest.

“The victim was rushed to the

hospital, where he was declared dead by hospital personnel,” says

Sgt. Palesa Thabana, spokesperson for the Lejweleputswa SAPS.

Preliminary investigations were conducted, and two suspects, aged 26 and 28, were subsequently arrested.
