The Sani Stagger Marathon is a torturing, extraordinary running experience with breathtaking views. “This simply defines this steepest marathon in Africa, which is rated amongst the most difficult road races in the world,” says Nkhetheni Masupa. Also known as “The Ultimate Endurance Race,” it is an annual event where runners run along the famous Sani Pass in the southern Drakensberg mountains. Welkom’s Masupa finished the 42,2 km in 04:29:34, with an overall position of sixth, and first in his age category.
