How much bad news have we heard and seen in the past weeks?

Or the better question: How have we as Christians responded to the bad news? There are only two ways to respond – either by fear or by faith. While two men stood behind the same prison bars, the one saw mud and the other saw stars. Which one have you been?
These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times. We should not give our attention to what is seen but to the unseen, according to 2 Corinthians 4:18). The seen, which we hear and feel, is shakable and subject to change. It is unstable and temporary. There are definite consequences to focusing on that which is shakable. Fear, anxiety, panic, depression, uncertainty, hopelessness.
For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love and self-control – says 2 Timothy 1:7.
In Matthew 6:31, Jesus urges us not to worry about how we are going to make it. This is what unbelievers do. Watch what you are saying. Fear has a voice, but so does faith. While faith’s voice corroborates the Word and causes man’s spirit to be restful, fear causes the soul of man to be restless, fearful and anxious.
We need to strengthen ourselves now. Do not hesitate or procrastinate. Now is the time to be a super-spreader of faith. I believe, therefore I speak. Become strong men and women in tough times. Fix your thoughts on the unshakeable word of truth.
By speaking faith-filled words, you are changing the atmosphere over your family and friends. When you have nothing left but God your Father, you begin to learn that God is more than enough.
