WELKOM – With just three weeks to go, excitement is mounting for the 24th annual Mediclinic Welkom Vista Eskom Athletic Club Road Race and Fun Walk, which takes place on Saturday 22 August.

Hosted by the Eskom Athletics Club Free State, this year’s event carries the theme “Strive with Pride Celebration”. Participants can choose between the 1,6 km fun walk or run, the 5 km race, or the 10 km race. Organisers are encouraging the community to make this year’s event the biggest and best yet.

In addition to promoting healthy living and sport, the race will also support several worthy beneficiaries, including the SANBS, Engo, CANSA and the Charlotte Moll Haven in Virginia. The event provides these organisations with an opportunity to raise awareness of their important work within the community.

Entries are now open via entryninja.com. Manual entry forms are available from the Vista offices in Stateway, Mediclinic Welkom, the SANBS offices in Welkom and Kroonstad, the Charlotte Moll Haven in Virginia and the Brandwag Primary School in Odendaalsrus.

Pre-entry registration for manual entries will take place at Virgin Active Welkom on Thursday 20 August and Friday 21 August. Late entries will be accepted on race day from 07:30.
